Friend In Mississippi
The three stars here is more of an average of scores and not a rating, and quite frankly generous.Today was the first time my family and I had eaten here, and to be honest, it will probably be the last. Let’s start with the positives: the waitress was phenomenal, bless her heart even when I sent my food back she was polite, respectful, and maintained a sweet disposition and professional demeanor, she came around the table and made sure we didn’t need anything and kept our glasses filled. My son’s grilled fish was cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly, however, I ordered the hamburger steak- and the cook had burned it to a crisp (it was solid as a rock and tasted like the bottom of a grill) they covered it in burned onions and canned mushrooms with cold brown gravy. Why would you serve that? Do people actually eat it and not complain? Do you not have standards? I can honestly say in my 41 years of life, I have sent my food back to the chef only one other time ever. It was that bad. I will just cut off, scrape off, eat around, or try and stomach things instead of sending things back, but this was truly awful. I spent over a hundred dollars in this place for my family to sit down and eat today and honestly it wasn’t worth half of that. My children LOVE macaroni and cheese and they all ordered it and every single one didn’t finish it, they didn’t like it... we go to a Chinese buffet and they will eat their soupy Mac and cheese. To anyone reading this, I recommend taking your money and going to Dale’s, Cracker Barrel, or another “country style” restaurant and avoid this one. To my waitress, thank you for your sweet spirit and your service.

Service was terrific and so family friendly. The food was EXCELLENT. Overall great experience and wonderful atmosphere.

Service was not so good, the fried food needed to be cooked a bit longer as it wasn't quite crisp. They had good flavor though. The hwy 305 band was playing, not my type of music but they played it very well.

Honestly this was the worst food I've eaten in a few years 😝👎 the chicken and dumplings didn't have any chunks of chicken in it and the dumplings we're more like a flat rolled out noodle that was slimy! the hushpuppies for fried so long that half of it was filled with grease and they were hard! Needless to say I won't be dining at Sweet peas!!
